O Canada! Thank You for Making a Special Union Possible
On May 20th, 2023 Tareq and Mila embarked on a journey that would forever change their lives. Their wedding day was nothing short of magical, filled with overwhelming emotions, the warmth of loved ones, and a celebration that will forever be etched in their hearts. As they joyfully stepped into their new roles as husband and wife, they embraced the beauty of togetherness and the promise of an endless adventure.
The story of Tareq and Mila is one that owes its beginnings to the embracing arms of Canadians. In 2015 and 2016, their paths led them far away from their native Damascus, with Tareq finding refuge in Nova Scotia and Mila settling in Alberta. Fate, however, had a different plan in store for them. It was in the welcoming land of Canada that their destinies intertwined, bringing them together in a serendipitous union of love.
Mila, with her passion for photography, and Tareq, with his affable nature and love for being in front of the camera, were destined to meet. Tareq sought a photographer for a project in Western Canada and discovered Mila's work. They connected, and their conversations continued until the day Tareq travelled to Edmonton for an event. It was there that their eyes met, and the connection was instant. A photography session captured the essence of their personalities, and in Mila's smile and humour, Tareq found himself falling head over heels. The inevitable happened - they started dating, and their love story began to unfold.
Fast forward to the day of Tareq's proposal, and the air was filled with anticipation. Unable to articulate the depth of his feelings, he found solace in their meeting being destined, their souls and hearts united long before they laid eyes on each other. Their paths may have taken them on a winding journey across thousands of kilometres, from Syria to Lebanon, and Egypt, but it was here in Canada, 10,000 kilometres away from their birthplace, that they discovered their eternal home in each other.
Now, as they embark on their journey as a married couple, Tareq and Mila look forward to a future filled with love, kindness, and unwavering support.
